Oyster respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects users to do the same. This DMCA Policy describes how to submit copyright claims and counter-notifications.

1. Submitting a DMCA Takedown Notice

If you believe content on Oyster infringes your copyright, send a notice to our designated agent including:

  • Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed.
  • Identification of the infringing material (URL(s) on Oyster).
  • A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  • A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on their behalf.
  • Your physical or electronic signature.

2. Counter-Notification

If your content was removed due to a DMCA notice and you believe it was removed in error, you may send a counter-notification including:

  • Your name and contact information.
  • Identification of the removed content and its prior location (URL).
  • A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the content was removed due to mistake or misidentification.
  • Consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court in your location (or an appropriate jurisdiction if outside the U.S.).
